Grand Opening of Flinders Sports Ground

On Saturday 27th February the Townsville Blackhawks joined the QRL and PlayNRL North Queensland in visiting Hughenden for the Grand Opening of the Flinders Sports Ground. Hughenden local Samsen O’Neill was welcomed back into the fold at his Junior Rugby League Club The Hughenden Hawks and the Blackhawks players and staff assisted with clinics for young rugby league players.
The day included Touch football, Mini and Mod League and finished off with 2 Games (Hughenden Bulls vs Richmond Tigers & Winton Devils vs Bohle Bull Terriers). By all accounts the day was a great success. Well done to the QRL, PlayNRL North Queensland, Queensland Government, Flinders Shire Council, Hughenden Hawks and Hughenden Bulls for contributing to this fantastic event.
