The Mendi Blackhawks are back in the winners circle after a 26-16 win against the Redcliffe Dolphins in Townsville yesterday.

The Dolphins were first to put points on the board in 24th minute, soon followed by two quick tries to the Mendi Blackhawks, including the first to Carlin Anderson on the back of a Michael Parker-Walshe grubber.

Leading Intrust Super Cup Try Scorer Jonathan Reuben scooped up an untouched high ball just before half time, scoring under the posts and taking the home team to a 10-6 lead at the break.

Three tries to two were scored in favor of the Mendi Blackhawks in the second half, including one just after half time to Kyle Laybutt from a great Kierran Moseley offload.

In form forward Corey Jensen powered across the line in the 52nd minute to score followed by another to Mendi Blackhawks speedster Carlin Anderson, giving him a double for the day.

Earlier in the day the Mendi Blackhawks celebrated Women In League with a function hosted by Peter Parr from the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys with special guest Tracy Bevan from the McGrath Foundation as well as players from the Cowboys and Mendi Blackhawks.

The day raised much needed funds for the McGrath Foundation and was a chance to say thank you to wonderful ladies in Rugby League.

The Mendi Blackhawks are also auctioning off the special PINK jerseys on their website, that the team wore for the win yesterday.  Bids close 5pm Wednesday.
